Watercooling & Overclocking for crazy pc

First you need to plan your loop, these are the pathways I have drafted out before going into actual hands on. This will give me a better visual of how my tubes and run in the case and whether the tubes will hinder any hardwares along its pathway and bearing in mind for future expansion flexibility.

For fundamental, ALWAYS PLACE THE RESERVOIR (RES) BEFORE YOUR PUMP. As you get more experience to watercooling (WC), you will find better ways to manage your pathway to better achieve cooler temp for your WC system.

From the illustration below, LOOP 1 runs this way;

RES > PUMP > RAD > CPU BLOCK > CHIPSET BLOCK > RES > Continues...

LOOP 1 - CPU & CHIPSET WATER COOLING ONLY

LOOP 2 - DUAL RADIATORS, CPU, CHIPSET AND GPU WATER COOLING

CONNECTING OF RIGHT ANGLE FITTING TO RESERVOIR

Remember to clean up the nickel/copper surface of your CPU WATERBLOCK before applying a small amount thermal paste. (a pea size) I have used Artic Silver 5 (AS5). Do note it takes a good few hours running the system before AS5 reaches it's desire state.

Did some measurement to find a good spot to secure the reservoir as the position I have chosen seems to hinder some sata cable connecting the motherboard.

The 120.3 radiator installed at the top hang of HAF X case. Note you will have to forgo your first 5.25" bay slot.

Connecting all the tubes to the fittings on the CPU waterblock and CHIPSET waterblock. I have coiled the water tubes with ANTI KINK tubing. The purpose of this anti kink tubing is specially useful when your tubes at certain junctions are bent to their max. The anti kink will ease the bend to provide a uniform bend to achieve good coolant flow rate when your system is running.

All tubes connected. Pump connected to power supply unit 12V molex (PSU). Note: I have only had my motherboard in the case. Once your good to go, pour in the coolant into the reservoir without turning on the pump yet.

Your can use this method to start your PSU.

(Use a paper clip, bend it into a 'U' shape, jumper a green and black colour cable as shown in the illustration below. Caution: DO NOT TOUCH/HOLD THE BEND PAPER CLIP WHEN TURNING ON OR RUNNING THE SYSTEM)

Once the 2 color cables are jumpered, turn on the main switch from your wall socket, then your toggle switch from your PSU to 'on'. To turn off just toggle from the PSU.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ASSEMBLE ALL YOUR HARDWARES TILL YOUR WC SYSTEM HAS GONE THROUGH THOROUGH LEAK TEST.

Reason being, incase of a leak or spillage. You suffer minimum damping the rest of the hardwares or loss. Though most coolants used these days are inert or non-conductive.

Final checks throughout the tubings, fittings and cable connections

I have used a few toilet roll sheets to wrap the fittings. The slighest leak from anywhere out of the fittings will be shown greatly on the sheets.

Now pour in the coolant and turn on the system...

The longest tubing you see is the fillport, I have a funnel standby to pour in more coolant at the initial turn on while the coolant flows along pushed by the pump.

Now I leave the system to run for the next 1 hour before returning to inspect for leakages and refilling.

Ran the system overnight for approx 12 hours to bleed away all the bubbles in the tube and to finalise the system to be safe for use.

Updating in progress, please stay tune...
LOOP 2: RE-ROUTING THE PATHWAY FOR CPU & CHIPSET WATER BLOCKS

<< D.I.Y FAN HUB FOR 7 FANS CONNECTION >>

I find it messy to have all the fans cable lying around in the case hence did some google over the net to find a home handy lesson to create a fan hub to better organise the pc fans cable management for the radiators. You need some basic tools, a solder, plier, mini circuit board and some 'male' 'female' connectors for pc fan.

Note: Use a parrallel circuit to achieve equal speed for all the pc fans when they are turn on at the same time.
